Once you learn the algorithms for doing multidigit subtraction, then it might be difficult to remember why it’s hard to learn. Love this video. It made me laugh and think. There are a few ways to solve a problem like that and it is interesting to see students develop efficient strategies for subtraction. I work with elementary/middle school students and we are currently in the midst of the math wars. I feel what is best is what works for each student.
